What I Watched in December
An overview of what I watched in December.
Hans Christian Andersen (1952)
This was a fun afternoon matinee; I especially loved the The Little Mermaid ballet.
Holiday Affair (1949)
Mame (1974)
Girls Can Play (1937)
I was expecting a heartfelt precursor to A League of Their Own but it ended up being a crime drama with women's baseball in the background. Still liked it, and enjoyed seeing an early Rita Hayworth!
Lili (1953)
This was charming, but part of me feels like I've been programmed to dislike Mel Ferrer because of how poorly he treated Audrey Hepburn...
Virtue (1932)
Three Loves Has Nancy (1938)
Why is Janet Gaynor so adorable? Choose yourself, Nancy!
The Trouble with Angels (1966)
The Cameraman (1928)
The monkey was my favourite part.
Paid (1930)
Don't mind me, just on a quest to watch as many Joan Crawford movies as I can.
A Man Could Get Killed (1966)
Oh Sandra. Oh James and oh Melina while we're at it...
For Pete's Sake (1974)
Of all the things to speculate on, pork bellies wouldn't be high on my list.
Miracle on Main Street (1939)
I was influenced into watching this based on a tweet from someone I forget who basically said something along the lines of TCM never airs this and he personally asked them to and now it's on the schedule?
Anyways, I'm so glad that tweet passed along my timeline at the exact right time because this movie is a treasure!
