All of Jane Fonda's Oscar Nominations

Happy Oscar nomination day! Today we're looking at all of the films that earned Jane Fonda an Oscar nomination!

Jane has won two Oscars in her career, both in the Best Actress category.

They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969)NOMINATED

When I watch this movie, I know that I'd go nuts just like they all did. It's a mild horror movie.

Other Nominees: Maggie Smith, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (winner); Geneviève Bujold, Anne of the Thousand Days; Liza Minnelli, The Sterile Cuckoo; Jean Simmons, The Happy Ending

Klute (1971)  WON

This performance showcases why Jane Fonda's such a versatile performer, in my opinion. She threw herself into research to play Bree, and even slept in the shady studio to replicate the sense of danger always looming over her character.

Other Nominees: Julie Christie, McCabe & Mrs. Miller; Glenda Jackson, Sunday Bloody Sunday; Vanessa Redgrave, Mary, Queen of Scots; Janet Suzman, Nicholas and Alexandra

Julia (1977)  NOMINATED

This isn't one of my favourite Jane Fonda movies, in fact, I keep forgetting she's in it (it's Vanessa Redgrave's movie, in my opinion. She won Best Supporting Actress for her performance).

Other Nominees: Diane Keaton, Annie Hall (winner); Anne Bancroft, The Turning Point; Shirley MacLaine, The Turning Point; Marsha Mason, The Goodbye Girl

Coming Home (1978)  WON

So sensitive and compassionate, showcasing a different side of the Vietnam War (which Jane was actively against) than the year's eventual Best Picture winner, The Deer Hunter. Jane's great in this film.

Other Nominees: Ingrid Bergman, Autumn Sonata; Ellen Burstyn, Same Time, Next Year; Jill Clayburgh, An Unmarried Woman; Geraldine Page, Interiors

The China Syndrome (1979)  NOMINATED

A riveting thriller with Jane Fonda at the helm as a reporter searching for the truth about how dangerous nuclear power can be.

Other Nominees: Sally Field, Norma Rae (winner); Jill Clayburgh, Starting Over; Marsha Mason, Chapter Two; Bette Midler, The Rose

The Morning After 1986 - NOMINATED

Sleek and thrilling.

Other Nominees: Marlee Matlin, Children of a Lesser God (winner); Sissy Spacek, Crimes of the Heart; Kathleen Turner, Peggy Sue Got Married; Sigourney Weaver, Aliens
