What I Watched: 2022 in Review

Another year in the books! And what a year, honestly. High highs, low lows, but, inevitably, filled with often wonderful (some wtf) old movies.

I had a New Year's resolution to watch 300 new-to-me movies this year, and I reached that goal, goddammit, in the final hours of the year. Never again! In the past, I've averaged around 240ish per year, and next year the chips are going to fall where they may.

This look back post is always a favourite to put together. When I start recording anew each January, I have no idea what the year's going to bring. All I know is that I'm going to attempt to watch record numbers of films for 31 Days of Oscar and Summer Under the Stars, but aside from that...how am I supposed to know I'm going to fall for David Niven's charms, or watch a truly, truly bizarre punk movie about Queen Elizabeth I time traveling to a wasteland future?

At any rate, welcome to my 2022 Year in Review post, and here's the full list of movies I watched in 2022. Here's my 2021 Year in Review post; and here's my 2020 Year in Review post; and here's my 2019 Year in Review post

  1. I am amazed by people who can watch so many movies in one year! And I'm retired! How do you do it? I really need to step up my game! I enjoyed reading about all of the movies you watched, and the different categories. I was especially interested in the pre-Code section. There are a number in that group that I haven't seen -- where do you find your movies?
