I present a totally scientific, not at all subjective, ranking of all of Louisa's husbands based on scientific reasoning and definitely not my own personal preferences. Let's dive in!
Joanne Woodward's Oscar Dress
Did you know that Joanne Woodward made her own dress for the Oscars in 1958? Her turquoise satin strapless dress was entirely homemade (it took her two weeks to complete, once she'd finished designing it) and cost her around $100 for the materials.
Not bad when you've won an Oscar, you're newly married to Paul Newman and you're the toast of Hollywood!
Elizabeth Taylor's Oscar Dress
Now, onto the dress! It's a Dior frock that looks absolutely stunning on Liz's enviable figure. What I love most, well, the two things I love most are the silhouette and the yellow bodice. It's such a delightful colour on her, and I love how the rich green belt cuts through the yellow bodice and white skirt. Liz chose a gown from the fashion house's 1961 Spring Haute Couture line for the evening.
Ranking Audrey Hepburn's Love Interests
Since she's a sort-of queen of romantic comedies from Hollywood's golden era, today, let's celebrate that status by ranking all of her love interests (by character, not by actor...in most cases)!

It's Easy to Love Cypress Gardens (Esther Williams 100 Blogathon)

Easy to Love was Esther's second film shot at Cypress Gardens; the first was On an Island With You. But this would prove to be the bigger spectacle. Here's the basic premise: Esther Williams plays Julie, a star swimmer at Cypress Gardens, and she's hopelessly in love with her boss, Ray, who is so overworked and micromanaging that he doesn't notice. She then enlists the help of two other men to make him jealous, and like Esther says in her must-read autobiography, "If you can't guess how this comes out, you haven't been paying attention."

I've discovered I'm a big fan of Sandra Dee this summer, as well as '60s interiors, if my last few Apartment Therapy posts are any indication...
Though If a Man Answers, which starred then-husband and wife team of Sandra Dee and Bobby Darrin, is a bit...sexist and the premise a little too unbelievable, there's still their gorgeous apartment to gawk at.

I love Man's Favorite Sport?. Love it, love it, love it. It's a movie I frequently turn to when I need cheering up or just want a laugh. It's the successor of Bringing Up Baby, with dry Rock Hudson and kooky Paula Prentiss, and honestly? It's just so fun.
