Summer Under the Stars: Lee Marvin
Star of the Day: Lee Marvin
The Rack (1956) - "A Korean War veteran is accused of cracking under enemy torture."
I chose this for my new-to-me film (it was on the TCM Canada schedule, I'm not sure which film it replaced...) and DVR'd Pocket Money, which I watched this morning. Can you guess the common link there? It's Paul Newman.
I haven't seen many Lee Marvin movies, but I have a visceral memory of, years after watching Cat Ballou, it being on TCM while I was visiting my grandparents, and my grandfather turning it on and laughing at Lee Marvin drunkenly riding a horse into the broadside of a barn. So there's that.
