The Helen Morgan Story (1957) - "A singer rises from sordid beginnings to fame and fortune... only to lose it all."
A happy Paul Newman Day to everyone who celebrated! It's always a pleasure to see those blue eyes on my TV screen. Turns out I'd seen every movie featured yesterday, save two: The Young Philadelphians and The Helen Morgan Story (which is what us Canadians got to watch while all you Americans got to watch Harper... grumble grumble rights and distributions).
I chose The Helen Morgan Story and it's interesting to see Paul at the beginning of his career and how magnetic he was, even when he wasn't the star.
