Summer Under the Stars: Donna Reed
Star of the Day: Donna Reed
Faithful in My Fashion (1946) - "A sailor on leave causes problems at the department store his girlfriend manages."
If I had a nickel for every Summer Under the Stars movie I've seen where the female lead pretends to be in love with the soldier on furlough and then winds up falling in love with him for real, I'd havw two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice. (The other was Dear Ruth.)
Donna Reed is such a breath of fresh air. So lovely and wholesome, in these light comedies she's great, but she's also so so good in dramatic fare. So glad she got the star treatment yesterday!
