Summer Under the Stars: Glenda Farrell

Star of the Day: Glenda Farrell

Here Comes Carter (1936): "A radio commentator avenges an old wrong by blowing the whistle on Hollywood scandals."

Glenda Farrell is fun as the spunky dame in '30s films, but I refuse to watch any more Torchy Blane flicks (sorry, my heart belongs to Maisie) so that severely limited my options yesterday.

That being said, I did thoroughly enjoy Here Comes Carter, which was a quick backstage Hollywood movie about a radio gossip host. Glenda's the secretary, so limited on screen, but she was fun when she did appear. I have a few other films saved on my DVR that I look forward to watching when I've got spare time!
