Summer Under the Stars: Audrey Hepburn

Star of the Day: Audrey Hepburn

Sweet Audrey, you're perhaps my most favourite. And, of course, like I say every time they feature Audrey on Summer Under the Stars, I've seen everything and this is all just a wonderful stroll down memory lane.

In lieu of rehashing my thoughts on these films, however, I'm going to pick a favourite costume or accessory from each. Onward!

The Unforgiven (1960)

This movie, on the whole, is a big yikes of a plotline, so let's focus on something else... like Burt Lancaster! He's handsome!

Green Mansions (1959)

Ip!

The Children’s Hour (1961)

How about a favourite co-star? Shirley MacLaine is so raw and tender in this film; I wish she and Audrey had've made more movies together.

Sabrina (1954)

I talk a lot on here about movie costumes I'd like to replicate and this Givenchy gown is probably the top-of-the-top of the list. I love the bustle train, it's the ne-plus-ultra of chicness in my opinion.

Charade (1963)

I love this leopard print hat!

Two for the Road (1967)

I love how mod all the costumes are in Two for the Road, especially a departure from Audrey's chic, Euorpean, Givenchy-centric style over the past decade. But I absolutely love how simple and gorgeous she is in a pair of blue jeans, a red sweater, and her hair pushed back with a headband.

Wait Until Dark (1967)

What's more iconic than the match?!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

Every costume in this film is chic, but the one I keep thinking about oddly isn't the black dress from the opening scene, it's the orange Givenchy coat! So sleek and structured, she looks impossibly glam here!

How to Steal a Million (1966)

I would love to have this kind of mysterious black lace eye mask.

My Fair Lady (1964)

All those jewels!!!!

Love in the Afternoon (1957)

I think I have a thing for lace veils...
