31 Days of Oscars: Princess O'Rourke

Imagine a movie about a Princess in New York winning the Best Screenplay Oscar these days. Justice for Mia Thermopolis!

Olivia de Havilland excelled at playing good girls, and this performance is no exception. As the princess of an unnamed European country who wants to marry for love and doesn't want to abide by her strict uncle (Charles Coburn, who really had a typecast going), she's perfect in this.

Nominations: Best Original Screenplay (Norman Krasna)

Won: Best Original Screenplay
