I mean, if you like the kind of adventure where sex is just about the only thing the characters are interested in and it's a whole hell of a lot racist in hindsight, then yeah, this is the movie for you. Pre-Code.com words it more elegantly than I do, but it's certainly an introduction to Dolores del Rio for this gal, who only really knows her from Flying Down to Rio

Also, not knowing much about Joel McCrea's career, but loving his antics in Sullivan's Travels and The More the Merrier, did he spend the early '30s playing doe-eyed vacant handsome men who don't really think things through before he does them? Cause between this and Chance at Heaven, I'm left wondering about his form of typecasting.
