Summer Under the Stars: John Barrymore
Star of the Day: John Barrymore
To be honest, I'm not much of a silent film fan, and there were no movies on John Barrymore Day that called out to me; I basically picked Don Juan just because it was on early in the day. That being said, I do love the screwball comedy Twentieth Century, starring John and Carole Lombard as a quarreling director and star trapped on the Twentieth Century cross-country train. I would've loved to have seen that movie on the schedule.
Don Juan (1926) - In this silent film, the legendary lover fights to survive intrigue in the court of the Borgias.
