Deception (1946) - A woman tries to protect her refugee husband from her rich and powerful ex-lover.
Another Bette Davis melodramatic role, which she excels at, featuring today's star, Paul Henreid, as her musician husband and Claude Rains as her dastardly ex-lover. It touches all the cornerstones of a classic melodrama: noir and gorgeously lit, hidden passions, murder, a breakdown. I really enjoyed this one.
Such a great movie, with superb performances. It's a shame it's not better known these days.
